Job description

IAT Insurance Group has an immediate opening for a Senior Product Manager - Property & Inland Marine Insurance based in Cheshire, CT; Alpharetta, GA; Raleigh, NC; Scottsdale, AZ; Newark, NJ; Naperville, IL; or Rolling Meadows, IL.

We're looking for a property product expert with a strong command of policy language, rating, and product performance, and a desire to work closely with underwriting. In this role, you'll own how our Property and Inland Marine products are designed, priced, and perform in the market. You'll lead form drafting, shape pricing structures, and work closely with underwriting to ensure what we bring to market is clear, competitive, and effective.

This is a highly visible role where you'll influence underwriting strategy, guide coverage decisions, and drive profitable growth across the portfolio.

This role works a hybrid schedule that requires working from the office Monday through Wednesday, with the option of working Thursday and Friday remotely.

Responsibilities:

  • Own and improve our Property & Inland Marine products end to end.
  • Draft and maintain forms, endorsements, and policy language (ISO and proprietary).
  • Build and refine rating structures, rules, and pricing approaches.
  • Work with underwriting to define appetite and drive profitable growth.
  • Develop and deliver training and support to underwriting teams.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to underwriting teams, providing guidance on coverage and complex risk scenarios.
  • Partner with actuarial on rate adequacy and product performance.
  • Evaluate ISO changes and determine adoption, modification, or deviation strategy.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and ensure products remain compliant and market-ready.
  • Be accountable for product performance, including growth and profitability outcomes.
  • Review product performance across coverage, pricing, and guidelines, and take action.
  • Prepare forms, rates, and rules for submission and partner with Compliance on state filings (including SERFF).
  • Respond to regulatory questions and objections, clearly articulating coverage intent and business rationale.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications:

Must-Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Risk Management, Finance, Business, or a related field
  • 8+ years of commercial insurance experience (product, underwriting, forms, or similar)
  • 3+ years focused on Commercial Property product work
  • Experience working with policy forms and rating structures
  • Ability to own decisions and influence across teams
  • To qualify, applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and must not require VISA sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment purposes.

Preferred to Have:

  • Experience in Property underwriting or commercial insurance product development
  • Familiarity with ISO products and filings
  • Experience with regulatory filings (e.g., SERFF)
  • Professional designations such as Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) or Associate in Risk Management (ARM)

Compensation:

Please note, that the annual gross salary range associated with this posting is $72,560 to $175,500.Actual salaries will vary based on factors such as a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and geographical location related to this specific role. The total compensation will include a base salary, performance-based bonus opportunities, 401(K) match, profit-sharing opportunities, and more.
