Actuarial Manager, Reserving

We are seeking an Actuarial Manager to support financial oversight and analytics for value-based care programs, with a primary focus on CKCC populations. This role will lead monthly financial reporting, support IBNR reserving, and partner cross-functionally to evaluate performance drivers and inform key business decisions. The ideal candidate combines strong technical actuarial skills with the ability to communicate insights clearly to senior leadership. Essential Functions

  • Lead actuarial support for monthly close (ME), including medical expense (MedEx), revenue, and savings analysis
  • Develop and maintain standardized financial exhibits to explain period-over-period changes
  • Partner with Finance to support booking decisions and ensure alignment with accounting
  • Own development and refinement of IBNR models using claims data and completion factors
  • Perform reserve analysis, including sensitivity testing and range development
  • Enhance reserving methodologies to improve accuracy and reduce volatility
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on CKCC financial performance, including benchmarks, risk score, and utilization trends
  • Monitor and update key assumptions (trend, risk score, RTA, etc.)
  • Support internal and external stakeholders with CKCC-related financial insights
  • Analyze claims, eligibility, and financial data to identify key drivers of performance
  • Partner with Data Ops and Engineering to improve data quality, timeliness, and accessibility
  • Support automation initiatives (e.g., standardized datasets, dashboards, and tools such as Power BI or SQL-based solutions)
  • Work closely with Finance, Partner Analytics, Risk Strategy, and Data teams
  • Support ad hoc analyses for leadership, including CFO-level summaries and board materials
  • Translate complex actuarial concepts into clear, actionable insights
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field
  • 4+ years' experience in actuarial services or related experience
  • Progress toward ASA/FSA (or equivalent experience) preferred
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong proficiency in Excel
  • 4+ years' experience with SQL and financial modeling capabilities
  • Experience with healthcare data (claims, membership, value-based care) strongly preferred
  • Experience with IBNR/reserving methodologies (e.g., completion factors, lag analysis)
  • Internet Connectivity - Min Speeds: 3.8Mbps/3.0Mbps (up/down): Latency <60 ms.
  • Ability to travel and be on-site to meet business needs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with CKCC or similar value-based care models
  • Experience with CMS shared savings programs
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong adaptability and capacity to work in fast-paced environments
  • Excellent communication skills, especially for executive audiences
  • Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills
  • Experience using Microsoft Power BI

Annual Salary Range: $99,000 - $149,000. This position is also eligible for a target annual bonus of 10%
