Job description

Wellabe is seeking an Actuary Analyst to join our team.ย  This role will develop and generate work products associated with reserve valuation processes of Life and Health insurance products. This role will also summarize statistical data by applying mathematical knowledge to policy and claim reserves, unpaid claim liabilities, trend analysis, and premium analysis.

Core Responsibilities
  • Assist with various ad hoc requests through data gathering and analysis of output for reasonableness and accuracy.
  • Support the production and analysis of reserve balances and other projection related tasks, including control generation and risk analysis.
  • Analyze and review reserve changes to support Statutory and Tax reporting.
  • Reconcile reserve models to recent experience.
  • Prepare schedules of financial statements, premiums, reserves and benefits.
  • Responsible for documenting applied methodologies, underlying assumptions and sources of data.
Qualifications
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate technical and complex topics. Effective written and verbal communicate skills.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to analyze processes to enhance their efficiency and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
  • Exposure to SQL, VBA, or other software programing is an advantage.
Education
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics or related field. Combination of education and/or relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.
  • Completion of Internship or relevant business experience preferred.
  • Completion of 2 actuarial exams preferred.
