Job description

We are hiring a full-time Activities Assistant to join our creative and passionate recreation team at Marlborough Hills Rehabilitation & Health Care Center!

Weekly pay at $17.50 an hour. 8a-4p including every other weekend.

You assist the department in planning, organizing, developing, and directing the daily events and programming for residents, including arts & crafts, performances, and other activities.

Experience & Education:

  • Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or its equivalent.

  • We can train the right candidate!

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Help coordinate and run events and activities programming.

  • Build relationships with residents and learn about their interests to tailor programming to their desires.

  • Organize group and individual programming.

  • Generate ideas that will excite and encourage residents to participate in programming.

  • Encourage residents to take part in activities that will stimulate his/her potential, physically, mentally, socially, and spiritually.

  • Assist with and follow through on the establishment of resident care goals within the framework of the entire therapeutic team.

  • Document and report any unusual or significant findings.

  • Report all reportable events immediately.

Specific Requirements:

  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.

  • Must be at least 18 years old.

  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.

  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
