Job Summary
The tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor of Counseling, Rehabilitation, and Interpreter Training position in the College of Education is an on-ground faculty appointment located at the Troy, Alabama campus. The position is primarily responsible for teaching specialized graduate courses in clinical mental health counseling and other counseling specialties; maintaining an active program of scholarship, research, and professional contribution; advising and mentoring graduate students; supervising practicum and internship students; supporting CACREP accreditation and program assessment activities; and providing service to the department, college, university, profession, and community.

Minimum Qualifications
1. Earned doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision from a CACREP-accredited program by the date of appointment.
2. Professional identity as a counselor demonstrated through academic preparation, professional experience, licensure, and active engagement in the counseling profession.
3. Eligibility for licensure as a Professional Counselor in Alabama (e.g., LPC or equivalent).
4. Academic preparation and/or professional experience in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, School Counseling, Rehabilitation Counseling, or another CACREP-recognized specialty area.
5. Demonstrated potential for excellence in graduate teaching, student mentoring, and supervision.
6. Demonstrated potential for scholarly productivity consistent with expectations for tenure and promotion.
7. Ability to teach in both face-to-face and online learning environments.
8. Excellent written, oral, interpersonal, and organizational communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Current unrestricted Professional Counselor licensure (LPC or equivalent).
2. Experience teaching in a CACREP-accredited counselor education program.
3. Experience supervising practicum and internship students consistent with CACREP standards.
4. Record of scholarly activity, including peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations, externally funded grants, or other evidence of an active research agenda.
5. Experience with CACREP accreditation, program evaluation, student learning assessment, or continuous quality improvement processes.
6. Experience developing and delivering high-quality online or hybrid graduate instruction.
7. Experience advising and mentoring graduate students.
8. Evidence of interdisciplinary collaboration, leadership, and professional service at the state, regional, or national level.
9. Demonstrated commitment to working effectively with students from diverse backgrounds and fostering an inclusive learning environment.
10. Expertise in one or more areas that complement departmental needs, such as:
