Description
Kin On is seeking an Activities Assistant reports directly to the Life Enrichment Director. The role is to assist the Life Enrichment Director to plan, organize, review and deliver quality programs for residents to support the recreational, physical, intellectual, spiritual, and social wellness of residents in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards. It also includes coordinate facility-wide events and volunteer services and work within a team to meet residents' therapeutic needs and recreational interests.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Coordinate facility-wide events and volunteer services.
  • Possess the ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with families, residents, the community, administration, and outside services is crucial.
  • Encourage and motivate resident to participate on daily activities with exercise, sensory stimulation (games), special programs and spiritual support.
  • Escort/assist residents to and from activities
  • Encourage participation and engage residents in small and large group settings. Make regular room visits to residents uninterested or unable to participate in group activities.
  • Lead or assist with group, and one-on-one, physical, social, religious, cultural, recreational, emotional and exercise. Facilitate sensory stimulation (games), conversations, exercise, art and music and special events.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in arts/crafts/music is preferred.
  • Encourage resident participation in activities and document outcomes when required.
  • Review goals and progress notes.
  • Complete Admission interview notes, Daily progress notes, Quarterly Care Plan/MDS/Activities - Quarterly/Annual Participation Review and all required document in a timely manner as assigned. Complete mandatory Code of Conduct and other appropriate compliance training.
  • Post daily resident attendance records and maintain documentation as required by State and Federal regulations.
  • Follow resident care plans in providing daily activities for the resident. Support the facility's compliance with all state, local and federal regulations, HIPPA, OSHA, Fire code and Resident's Bill of Rights at all times.
  • Handle all forms of resident Protected Health Information (PHI) in a confidential, private and secure manner.
  • Perform all duties as assigned by management.

MINIMUMN QUALIFICATIONS:
  • English written and verbal ability a must.
  • Verbal language skills in Mandarin/Cantonese/Toishanese dialects/Vietnamese will be a plus.
  • Positive team player and love working with seniors, and leading life-enrichment activities.
  • Able to work independently and follow scheduled plans.
  • Relate positively and, and always treat.
  • Have a positive and compassionate attitude and collaborate effectively with other departments. Advocate for our senior residents with respect and dignity.
  • Be creative in planning and executing of activities
  • High school or GED equivalent. An A.A. degree graduated preferred.
  • Nursing Home, Assisted Living or senior care facilities experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in computer programs such as Microsoft Office Suite a must.
  • Candidate must be authorized to work in the United States

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
  • Pay: $21.30/hour - $23.00/hour
