The Ames High School coaching staff is looking for an Associate Girls Swim Coach for the 2026-27 season.
Work Schedule: 2-3 hours Monday-Friday for practice. Various nights and weekends are also required for meets.
Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
  • Assists coaching staff in running a competitive swim program.
  • Attends all practices and has the ability to coach at an individual, small group, and team level.
  • Models sports-like behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards players, officials, and spectators.
  • Follows and maintains knowledge of all District policies and procedures.
  • Abides by strict confidentiality at all times.
  • Assists with other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • A current Iowa Department of Education coaching authorization.
  • Concussion certification.
  • Experience coaching swim at the high school level preferred.

The successful candidate will:
  • Create a sense of belonging and welcoming environment for all athletes, parents, and staff.
  • Attend work on a consistent and punctual basis.

Compensation: $1,434 season stipend
