Ocean Grove Post Acute in beautiful Millsboro, DE is currently hiring for a Part Time Activities Assistant!
Shift: Saturday and Sunday 8:30am-4:30pm
Looking for a compassionate and caring person with a genuine interest in working with seniors. This candidate will be assisting in creating and implementing recreation programs for our residents.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Plan and execute activities tailored to the dementia specific population, including small groups, one-on-one sessions, and sensory stimulation.
Develop/implement group and individual activities to address participants' cognitive, physical, social and artistic needs.
Assist in creating written plans of care for each participants' activities program.
Contribute to the development of the monthly calendar.
Monitor inventory of recreation therapy supplies and equipment.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience in recreation activities strongly preferred.
Preferred experience in long-term care or geriatric programs.
Strong communication, written, organizational and conflict management skills.
Ability to work independently and adapt to change.
