The Moorings at Lewes, a Springpoint Senior Living Life Plan Community located in beautiful coastal Lewes, Delaware, is seeking a Full-Time Activities Aide to join our team. This isn't just a job - it's a calling. You'll be at the heart of resident life, creating the moments our residents look forward to all week.
Responsibilities:
  • As an Activities Aide, you are a vital force in the daily life of our residents. Working closely with the Activities Director, you will:
    • Plan, organize, and lead therapeutic activity programs for groups and individuals, tailored to residents' physical, cognitive, and social needs
    • Assist and adapt activities to meet the needs of residents with physical limitations or cognitive impairments (including dementia).
    • Assist the Activities Director in developing a dynamic, person-centered programming calendar
    • Prepare supplies, participant lists, and activity schedules
    • Assist with special events and holiday celebrations
    • Escort residents to and from activities and community outings - safely and enthusiastically
    • Conduct group activities with energy, creativity, and genuine engagement
    • Maintain accurate daily participation records to support resident care planning as well as communicate resident preferences, behaviors, and changes to the Activities Director and or care team
    • Attend required educational offerings in patient activities and resident care.

Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Genuine passion for serving and connecting with older adults
  • High energy, creativity, and a team-first attitude
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including some evenings and every other weekends
    • Preferred;
      • 2+ years of experience in a similar activities, recreation, or life enrichment role
      • Certification from the National Council for Activity Professionals (NCAP)
      • Certification from the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation (NCTRC)
      • Experience in a long-term care or senior living setting
