We are currently seeking a Part-Time Activities Assistant to join our Resident Services team. This position plays an important role in creating engaging experiences that enhance the physical, emotional, intellectual, social, and spiritual well-being of our residents.

What You'll Do:
As an Activities Assistant, you will help create engaging programs and experiences that support residents' physical, emotional, social, intellectual, and spiritual well-being.
Responsibilities include:
  • Assist with planning and leading daily activities, programs, and special events
  • Encourage resident participation and engagement in community activities
  • Build relationships with residents through group programs and one-on-one visits
  • Assist residents with attending activities and provide support as needed
  • Document resident participation and maintain accurate activity records
  • Complete required documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Assist with planning new programs based on resident interests and preferences
  • Help maintain activity spaces to ensure they are welcoming, organized, and ready for use
  • Support resident mail distribution and other community engagement activities
  • Monitor resident needs, preferences, and participation while communicating concerns to leadership
  • Work collaboratively with nursing, dining, and other departments to support resident experiences
  • Maintain awareness of resident dietary restrictions and individual needs
  • Attend training sessions and maintain compliance with organizational standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • At least one years' experience in providing therapeutic recreation services in a long-term care facility with the elderly preferred.
  • Experience caring for residents with Alzheimer's and/or dementia.
  • Knowledge and experience working with senior communities in a long-term care facility.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Must present self in a professional manner.
  • Must possess concern, responsiveness, and tact when dealing with colleagues, residents and their families.
  • Must be able to work collaboratively with others to help colleagues to achieve respective goals for creating wellness opportunities and experiences for our residents.
  • Must have completed or be willing to complete educational requirements imposed by State regulations within the specified time frame.
