Recreation Aide

The Willow's at Ramapo is searching for an Activities/Recreation Aide to join their ever-growing team.

Recreation Aide Job Summary:

As the Recreation Aide you will develop, coordinate and implement programs and services for residents to provide a therapeutic environment that assists in maintaining each resident’s highest level of cognitive, physical, social and psychological wellbeing.  Applicant must be energetic, enthusiastic, and creative with good interpersonal and communication skills to engage our residents.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

- Planning, promoting, and conducting group and individual recreation programs as assigned by Director

- Documenting program attendance and participation

- Facilitate independent activities for residents

- Assist residents to/from recreation programs and resident events

- Assist residents with participation in religious programs

- Assist with family visitation

- Creating/Preparing/Distribution of daily program, monthly newsletter, and calendars

- Assist with staff employee engagement events

- Performs other tasks as assigned by Recreation Director

Recreation Aide Qualification/Requiements:

- Energetic and creative with the ability to be engaging with resident population

- 2 years work experience in a social/recreational program providing & coordinating services OR Degree in Therapeutic Recreation or related field

- Must be able to read/write/speak English in order to communicate effectively with residents

- MUSICAL ABILITY a PLUS!

- Knowledge of M.D.S and Point Click Care a plus! 

Salary: Up to $21.00 an hour
