Industry UsageSoftware companies, IT departmentsTelecommunications, enterprise IT
Common Search/ComparisonYesYes

Activex developers focus on creating and maintaining ActiveX controls and software components, often requiring programming skills and software development certifications. While both roles are IT-related, Activex roles are more software development-oriented, whereas Network Technicians focus on network hardware and connectivity issues.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals working with ActiveX controls, and how can they be addressed?

Professionals working with ActiveX controls often face challenges related to compatibility and security, as ActiveX is primarily designed for Internet Explorer and older Windows environments. Ensuring that controls function properly across various browsers or newer operating systems can be difficult. Additionally, security concerns arise because poorly coded ActiveX controls can be exploited. To address these issues, developers should follow best practices for secure coding, thoroughly test controls in target environments, and stay updated on Microsoft's guidelines regarding deprecated technologies.

What jobs pay $700 a day?

Jobs related to Activex development or support, such as freelance software consultants or specialized IT contractors, can sometimes pay $700 a day depending on experience, project complexity, and client budgets. High-paying tech roles often require advanced skills in software development, troubleshooting, or enterprise solutions, and may involve contract or consulting work with flexible schedules.

What jobs pay 4000 a week without a degree?

Activex-related roles such as freelance software developers, IT consultants, or specialized tech contractors can sometimes earn $4,000 or more weekly, especially with in-demand skills like programming, network management, or cybersecurity. These positions often require strong technical expertise, certifications, and experience rather than formal degrees, and may involve project-based or contract work with flexible schedules.

Is ActiveX still used today?

ActiveX is an outdated technology primarily used in the late 1990s and early 2000s for embedding interactive content in Windows applications and web browsers. Today, it is largely deprecated due to security concerns and replaced by modern web standards like HTML5, JavaScript, and other cross-platform tools. ActiveX skills are rarely required for current IT or software development roles.

What are ActiveX controls and what are they used for?

ActiveX controls are small software components developed by Microsoft that add functionality to applications and web browsers, particularly Internet Explorer. They enable interactive content such as videos, forms, games, and other features to run within web pages or software. ActiveX controls are often used in enterprise environments for tasks like displaying charts, accessing system hardware, or automating repetitive tasks. However, because they can access system resources, they also pose security risks if not managed properly.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an ActiveX Developer, and why are they important?

To thrive as an ActiveX Developer, you need strong expertise in programming languages like C++ or Visual Basic, experience with COM (Component Object Model) technology, and a solid understanding of Windows operating systems. Familiarity with development environments such as Microsoft Visual Studio and knowledge of debugging and security best practices are typical requirements. Attention to detail, problem-solving, and effective communication are vital soft skills for collaborating with teams and addressing complex technical challenges. These skills and qualifications are important to ensure the creation of reliable, secure, and compatible ActiveX controls for enterprise applications.

What is ActiveX used for?

ActiveX is a software framework developed by Microsoft that allows applications to share information and functionality across Windows environments. It is commonly used to embed interactive content such as multimedia, animations, and controls within web pages and applications, often requiring knowledge of programming languages like C++ or Visual Basic. ActiveX controls can enhance user interfaces but also pose security risks if not properly managed.
