Active Directory Engineer
Location: Melville, NY 11747 / McLean, VA / Plano, TX
Duration: 23-24 months
Job Description: Â
The 3rd Level Active Directory Engineer is responsible for providing operational and project support for an enterprise Active Directory environment. The Active Directory 3rd Level Engineer is required to have expert technical knowledge and understanding of Active Directory including experience supporting large-scale and highly complex environments.Â
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide 24x7x365 operational support of Active Directory environmentÂ
- Troubleshoot and resolve low to high complexity issues and incidentsÂ
- Participate in or lead complex or high severity troubleshooting and incident problem resolutions with other infrastructure teams or vendorsÂ
- Plan and implement low to highly complex changes to the environmentÂ
- Participate as a team member on projects involving Active DirectoryÂ
- Perform common responsibilities such as domain controller promotion and demotion, organizational unit setup and delegation of administration, group policy creation and modification, administration of AD sites, subnets and site links, and schema changesÂ
- Analyze data and identify trends to facilitate root cause analysis and identify opportunities for service improvementÂ
- Ensure the security and compliance of the Active Directory environmentÂ
- Create and update standard operating procedure documentationÂ
- Manage the backup and restore of Active DirectoryÂ
- Participate in capacity planning, performance monitoring and maintenance to ensure high availability and proactively identify opportunities for service improvementÂ
Basic Qualifications:Â
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent certification, or military experienceÂ
- Minimum of 8 year IT experienceÂ
- Minimum of 5 years of Active Directory technical experience that includes the operational support and implementation of large-scale, enterprise level solutionsÂ
- Proven experience effectively communicating technical issues\challenges to both technical and non-technical audiences.Â
Preferred Qualifications:Â
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or EngineeringÂ
- Solid understanding of the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) principlesÂ
- Experience with Windows Server 2012 Active DirectoryÂ
- Experience with Windows Azure, AWS or other public Cloud technologiesÂ
- Experience in VBScript or PowerShell to develop complex automation scriptsÂ
- Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) or an equivalent certification Â
