Overview
AtkinsRéalis is seeking an Environmental Sustainability Intern - Fall 2026 to join our Charlotte, NC office.
Your Role
  • Support the management of the US Sustainability Management Action Plan

  • Collaborate with various internal task leads to track action items related to sustainability goals.

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to sustainability goals.

  • Prepare reports, presentations, and documentation for internal use.

  • Contribute to sustainability communications and initiatives.

  • National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Support

  • Document control and organization of project related communications.

  • Aid in the creation of project related public facing materials.

  • Attend and document coordination between the project team, clients, and government and local agencies.

About You
  • EXPERIENCE:

  • Familiarity with the National Environmental Policy Act, Environmental Impact Statements, and environmental regulations.

  • Coursework or projects related to sustainability, environmental impacts, carbon accounting or corporate social responsibility.

  • Participation in campus or community sustainability initiatives.

  • EDUCATION:

  • In-progress Master's level preferred in sustainability, environmental studies, environmental engineering, or related field.

  • SPECIAL SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of sustainability frameworks (e.g. LEED, Envision) or sustainable manufacturing, Lean, Six Sigma.

  • Familiarity with sustainability-related concepts and tools such as carbon footprint calculation or lifecycle assessments.

  • Detailed technical writing and reporting abilities.

  • Basic computer skills required to enter data into spreadsheets or databases.
