Pay: $105,000 โ $115,000 per year
Position Type: Full-Time, Exempt
Location: Greeley, Colorado (Field & Office-Based)
Travel: Up to 25% (primarily within 1โ2 hours)
Reports To: President โ Rocky Mountain Division
The Role
The Drilling Manager oversees the scheduling, execution, and safety of environmental drilling operations across the Rocky Mountain region. This leadership role balances field operations with office coordination, ensuring projects are properly planned, staffed, equipped, and executed safely and efficiently.
This position works closely with project managers, environmental scientists, and field crews while managing equipment, personnel, and logistics. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong technical expertise, operational insight, and a commitment to safety and performance.
What Youโll Be Doing
Operations & Project Management
- Review scopes of work and prepare cost estimates
- Plan and coordinate drilling operations for safe and efficient execution
- Schedule field crews and manage project timelines
- Prepare jobs including logistics, equipment, and personnel assignments
- Monitor project progress and adjust plans as needed
Field Oversight & Execution
- Provide on-site technical support and operational guidance
- Conduct site assessments and field audits for quality and compliance
- Deliver supplies, equipment, and repair parts as needed
- Ensure safe and efficient execution of manual and mechanized drilling projects
Equipment & Resource Management
- Procure drilling materials, supplies, and parts
- Oversee routine and non-routine drill rig maintenance
- Ensure equipment is maintained, safe, and ready for use
Leadership & Team Management
- Manage and supervise the Colorado drilling team
- Coordinate personnel assignments and job coverage
- Foster a strong team environment and mentor staff
- Communicate effectively with team members, leadership, and clients
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce compliance with OSHA, regulatory, and client requirements
- Implement Tasman safety policies and site-specific programs
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture across operations
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare reports and maintain accurate records
- Track project performance against goals and schedules
- Ensure proper documentation of field activities and compliance requirements
What You Bring
Required
- 7+ years of experience in environmental and/or geotechnical drilling
- Strong knowledge of drilling operations, equipment, and safety practices
- Experience scheduling crews and coordinating multiple projects
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Knowledge of utility locate processes and safe ground disturbance practices
- Strong technical writing and reporting skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools
- Demonstrated ability to manage time, priorities, and resources effectively
- Valid driverโs license
- Authorization to work in the United States
Preferred
- Bachelorโs degree in Geology, Engineering, or related field
- OSHA 10-Hour certification
- HAZWOPER 40-hour certification
- 2+ years of drilling management experience
- CDL-A or ability to obtain
- Oil & gas industry experience
- Knowledge of environmental remediation
- Experience with soil boring classification
Work Environment
This role operates in both office and field environments.
Field Conditions:
- Exposure to varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow)
- Active drilling and construction sites
- Exposure to contaminated soils and materials
- Routine use of PPE and safety equipment
Physical Requirements:
- Stand and walk for extended periods (2โ3 hours at a time)
- Climb, bend, stoop, and move across job sites
- Lift up to 50 pounds
- Operate tools and field equipment
Schedule
- Full-time
- Monday โ Friday, 8:00 a.m. โ 5:00 p.m.
- Occasional evenings and weekends based on project demands
Work Authorization

- Must possess a valid driverโs license

Required Education and Experience
- 7+ years of experience in the environmental and/or geotechnical drilling business.
- Strong technical writing skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

- Experience with state regulations and related entities.
Preferred Education and Experience
