Environment & Natural Resources Associate Attorney

Direct Counsel is seeking an Environment & Natural Resources Associate Attorney to join a prestigious Am Law firm in Denver, Colorado.

This is an exceptional opportunity for an attorney with 5-9 years of environmental transactions experience to join a nationally recognized Environmental practice. The team advises clients on high-profile, high-value transactions across a wide range of industries, including diversified industrials, aerospace and defense, life sciences, and sports and entertainment, with a focus on identifying and managing environmental risks in complex business transactions.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct environmental due diligence in connection with mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions.

  • Prepare environmental due diligence reports and advise clients on transaction-related environmental risks.

  • Draft and negotiate environmental provisions in merger, acquisition, and other transactional agreements.

  • Counsel clients on environmental liabilities, regulatory compliance, and risk mitigation strategies.

  • Collaborate with corporate and transactional attorneys on sophisticated domestic and cross-border deals.

  • Analyze environmental laws and regulations affecting business transactions.

  • Provide strategic legal advice to clients throughout all phases of complex transactions.

Qualifications
  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.

  • Active membership in a U.S. state bar.

  • 5-9 years of environmental transactions experience, preferably at a large law firm.

  • Experience conducting environmental due diligence for corporate transactions.

  • Experience preparing environmental diligence reports and drafting environmental provisions in M&A agreements.

  • Strong knowledge of environmental laws, regulations, and transactional risk assessment.

  • Excellent legal research, analytical, drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.

  • Outstanding academic credentials and a demonstrated commitment to providing exceptional client service.

Compensation & Benefits
