The HSED Lead Editor is responsible for providing editorial leadership and oversight for HSED open educational resources (OER) textbooks developed through the WisTech Open project. This role ensures consistency, quality, and alignment across textbook content and coordinates contributions from faculty and reviewers. Functional guidance and support for the HSED Lead Editor are provided by the WisTech Open Director.

- Review, synthesize, and incorporate revisions based on input from faculty workgroups, peer reviewers, and proofreaders.

- Communicate textbook updates and information to relevant organizations, state workgroups, committees, faculty, and industry partners.
- Ensure adherence to established timelines for WisTech Open/HSED textbooks.
- Provide reporting data, progress updates, and feedback to the WisTech Open Project Director related to the HSED textbook(s).
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

- Ability to think critically by applying problem solving practices, acquiring relevant information, using technology and other resources appropriately, and evaluating alternatives.
- Ability to communicate effectively by speaking and writing clearly, concisely, and professionally; practicing active listening; reading critically and adapting communication for audience.
- Ability to recognize personal biases, adapt to different cultural situations, and demonstrate a commitment to respectful interactions with persons of various ethnic, cultural, socio-economic, or educational backgrounds.
- Intermediate knowledge of and skills with technology including software programs for communication, data collection, and decision making including, but not limited to, Office 365 Suite.
- Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Education or related field.
- Minimum of two years teaching experience in an HSED program in Wisconsin.
- Experience writing, editing, or publishing, preferred.
- Experience with WTCS HSED curriculum and PressBooks preferred.
