Job description

Maternal–Fetal Medicine (MFM) Physician (OB/GYN)

Location: Brooklyn, Queens & Nassau County, NY (multi-site ambulatory + partner hospitals) Reports to: OB/GYN Service Line Lead; dotted line to COO Employment type: Full-time (4–5 days/week)

Mission & Role Summary

True Health NY is a physician-led, multi-site OB/GYN & Primary Care group focused on high-access, high-quality women's health. We're seeking a board-certified/eligible Maternal–Fetal Medicine physician to lead and scale our high-risk obstetrics program, co-manage complex pregnancies with our generalists, and serve as the interpreting physician for obstetric ultrasound across the practice. The ideal candidate combines superb clinical judgment with operational savvy and a passion for patient experience.

What You'll Do

Clinical Care

  • Provide consultative and co-management care for high-risk pregnancies (preconception through postpartum) per ACOG/SMFM guidelines.
  • Perform and interpret advanced OB ultrasound (targeted anatomy, growth, NT, cervical length, BPP, Dopplers); oversee ultrasound quality and protocols.
  • Perform (or supervise) invasive prenatal diagnostics as credentialed (e.g., amniocentesis; CVS if applicable).
  • Offer evidence-based management for maternal comorbidities (HTN, DM, autoimmune, cardiac, hematologic, renal, infectious disease in pregnancy).
  • Provide rapid access consultations and same-day add-ons for urgent referrals; ensure closed-loop communication with referring clinicians.
  • Participate in hospital-based consultations and care coordination with labor & delivery teams (laborist participation optional based on interest and facility needs).

Program Leadership & Quality

  • Serve as section lead for MFM: standardize pathways, order sets, and referral criteria; mentor sonographers and APPs.
  • Lead ultrasound QA (image quality, reporting timeliness, peer review) and credentialing support for interpreting physicians.
  • Drive data-informed quality improvement (e.g., timely diabetes in pregnancy follow-up, aspirin prophylaxis, preeclampsia surveillance).
  • Educate clinicians and staff (case conferences, guideline updates); collaborate on resident/medical-student teaching if applicable.

Operations, Documentation & Compliance

  • Utilize eClinicalWorks (eCW) and PACS for efficient documentation and imaging workflows; finalize notes and reads within 24 hours.
  • Partner with operations to optimize access (templates, bump logic, no-show recovery) and referral conversion.
  • Ensure compliant coding, documentation, and use of appropriate ultrasound/procedure and consult codes.
  • Maintain HIPAA, OSHA, and NYS regulatory compliance and a safe, inclusive clinical environment.

What Success Looks Like (Key Metrics)

  • Access: Next-available MFM consult ≤ 7 calendar days; reserve same-day slots for urgent cases.
  • Ultrasound: ≥ 95% final reads within 24 hours; < 2% addendum rate on QA review.
  • Quality: High adherence to ACOG/SMFM pathways; quarterly QI projects completed.
  • Experience: ≥ 4.7/5 patient-experience average; prompt primary OB communication on all critical results.
  • Growth: Year-over-year increase in consult and ultrasound volumes via strong community and internal referrals.

Schedule & Setting

  • Primarily on-site across True Health NY locations in Queens & Nassau; limited tele-consultation as approved.
  • Participation in partner-hospital consults; optional laborist coverage by mutual agreement.

Qualifications

  • MD/DO; ABOG board-certified in OB/GYN; board-eligible or board-certified in Maternal–Fetal Medicine.
  • Unrestricted NY medical license (or ability to obtain), DEA, and hospital privileges eligibility.
  • Demonstrated expertise in advanced OB ultrasound; invasive prenatal diagnostics experience preferred.
  • Comfort with eClinicalWorks (or willingness to learn), DICOM/PACS, and structured reporting.
  • Strong communication skills; team-first, patient-centered approach.
  • Language skills (e.g., Spanish, Mandarin, Bengali) a plus for our communities.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive base compensation with productivity and quality incentives.
  • Malpractice coverage (claims-made or occurrence, per policy), medical/dental/vision, life & disability, 401(k) with company match, PTO and CME support—consistent with True Health NY's standard offer framework.

Equal Opportunity

True Health NY is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
