What is an Acme screw machine?

An Acme screw machine is an automatic lathe used for high-volume production of precision turned parts, such as screws, bolts, and other threaded components. These machines are known for their ability to quickly and efficiently manufacture complex parts from bar stock, often in large quantities. Acme screw machines operate using a series of cams that control the cutting tools, enabling them to perform multiple machining operations in a single cycle. They are widely used in industries such as automotive, aerospace, and electronics for producing small, intricate metal components.

What is the difference between Acme Screw Machine vs CNC Screw Machine?
