Job description

Position Summary

As an Area Construction Manager (ACM) with Luxe Builders, you will be responsible for the daily operations for all field related construction activities. The ACM will act as the main liaison for all construction reporting. They will communicate frequently with divisional leadership along with members from other departments. The ACM provides leadership, vision, and direction to their Superintendents for all aspects of Construction, including but not limited to, project management, purchasing, field operations, environmental compliance, and safety The ACM is responsible for the output of production and quality within their assigned area neighborhoods, and helping the Company achieve financial goals and objectives while increasing operational performance and developing future strategic plans.

A successful ACM should be committed to excellent customer service in a demanding environment that uses established industry-wide procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and mentor all Superintendents
  • Train existing employees and new hires on systems and processes
  • Recognize talent. Recruit, retain and motivate team members to be successful.
  • Assist with identifying and hiring or promoting project management team members
  • Oversee area operations to ensure homes are built of high quality, within budgets, complete and within scheduled timeframes.
  • Drive uniformities between job sites on design, detail, and quality to ensure a consistent and exceptional customer experience.
  • Collaborate with leadership on operational initiatives and directives.
  • Responsible for ensuring that departmental processes and efficiencies are implemented across the Company.
  • Responsible for adherence to all construction field policies and procedures both on and off-site, maintaining the strong reputation of Luxe Builders
  • Responsible for onsite leadership, direction, and guidance in construction procedures, building codes, scheduling, and national safety requirements.
  • Provide oversight to the superintendent team on field operations, production, and schedules and quality control so that homes are built 100% complete to meet Company quality standards.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of quality assurance processes.
  • Daily onsite visitation is required to support and create accountability with Superintendent teams in charge of quality, schedules, and policy enforcement.
  • Help procure trade partners and continue to foster relationships of all trades and vendors responsible for the construction of homes.
  • Assist in the bidding process, negotiations, and selection of trades. Responsible for payment approvals to ensure the success and growth of our trade partners.
  • Work with leadership to develop strategic planning for the organization around the growth and development of construction.
  • Frequent review and monitoring of house schedules and progression.
  • Regular review of costs, budgets, and scheduled activities on projects. Oversee cost reporting and change order management systems and project document control. Monitor and prevent high-cost and schedule impacts.
  • Responsible for achieving excellent customer satisfaction by promoting an atmosphere of accountability that focuses on exceptional quality and customer service.
  • Promote and support Luxe Buildersโ€™ processes and procedures to ensure construction of the most cost-effective, high-quality product. Provide insight and recommendations to reduce costs and increase efficiency.
  • Conduct all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to work up to 10 hours per day in a fast-paced environment. Work hours/days may vary to oversee operations.
  • Ability to endure regular exposure to outside weather conditions and elements.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders, bend, stoop, reach, etc.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle and/or other equipment necessary to the position.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and peripheral vision.
  • Regular travel between job site neighborhoods will be necessary.
  • Other travel may be required.
Travel
  • Primary local during the business day; occasional regional travel or overnight stays may be required.
Required Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 7+ years in residential construction industry
  • Driverโ€™s license and reliable transportation required.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proven negotiation skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Thorough understanding of purchasing procedures and policies.

  • Experience with construction management and scheduling software
  • Proficient with technology and understanding of Microsoft Office applications & email.
  • Knowledge of construction procedures, building codes, estimating, and scheduling best practices.
  • Have a strong operational focus, analytical ability, and good judgment with high ethical standards.
  • Ability to read, count and write English to complete all necessary documentation.
  • Ability to read plans, tape measure and use other small tools as necessary to the position.
  • Ability to communicate with all persons effectively and courteously
