The Business Systems Analyst IV is a senior individual contributor responsible for delivering highly reliable, scalable, and secure POS and Payments technology solutions that support Retail Operations, Payments, and Finance. This role operates as a technical and functional leader within the team, driving solution design, system integration, and end-to-end delivery across complex platforms.


The analyst partners closely with product owners, architects, engineers, vendors, and business stakeholders to translate business needs into effective technology solutions while promoting best practices, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.


This role supports multiple POS and Payments platforms, including ACI Retail Commerce Server, NCR Connected Payments (OpenEPS, ServerEPS, Common Client, WebEPS), Verifone and Ingenico PIN pads, and estate management solutions.


Our flexible/hybrid work schedule includes 3 in-person days at one of our core locations. Our core offices include Salisbury, NC, Quincy, MA, and Chicago, IL


Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.


Responsibilities

  • Own the design, configuration, integration, and implementation of POS and Payments solutions across multiple platforms and portfolios.

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of medium to large initiatives, including discovery, requirements, design, testing, implementation, and support.

  • Ensure solutions are scalable, stable, secure, and aligned to business and IT objectives.

  • Provide hands‑on expertise in system configuration, integration patterns, and troubleshooting.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for POS and Payments systems, including payment processing flows, device interactions, and store systems.

  • Drive solution design decisions in collaboration with architects and engineering teams.

  • Evaluate and recommend improvements for system performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.

  • Contribute to the evaluation and adoption of emerging technologies and enhancements.

  • Partner with business stakeholders across Retail Operations, Payments, and Finance to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

  • Collaborate with product owners to refine backlogs, define user stories, and ensure alignment with strategic priorities.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendor partners and external service providers.

  • Lead triage and resolution of complex production issues (P1/P2), including participation in incident bridge calls and root cause analysis.

  • Ensure systems meet operational SLAs for availability, performance, and reliability.

  • Support audit, compliance, and regulatory activities (e.g., PCI), including access reviews and controls validation.

  • Drive continuous improvement through automation, monitoring, and process optimization.

  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior analysts and team members.

  • Promote best practices in requirements management, documentation, testing, and delivery.

  • Take ownership of initiatives and proactively drive outcomes with minimal oversight.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical field (or equivalent experience).

  • 5+ years of experience driving solution design, system integration, and end-to-end delivery across complex platforms.

  • Experience supporting large-scale retail environments (grocery or fuel preferred).

  • Strong knowledge of the credit/debit payments ecosystem, including authorization flows, devices, and settlement concepts.

  • Experience working with POS systems, payment gateways, or payment devices (e.g., Verifone, Ingenico).

  • Proven ability to deliver complex technology solutions end-to-end.

  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and troubleshooting skills.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across technical and business teams.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver within time‑based constraints.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience with ACI Retail Commerce Server (RCS).

  • Experience with NCR Connected Payments (OpenEPS, ServerEPS, WebEPS, Common Client).

  • Experience with PIN pad configuration, key management, and estate management tools.

  • Experience with POS platforms such as NCR Storeline, Emerald, or Toshiba ACE.

  • Experience in Agile and product-based delivery models.

  • Familiarity with PCI compliance and payment security standards.

  • Experience in modernization or platform migration initiatives.
