Job description

Primary Function: To provide the highest quality service to members and perform routine transactions accurately, efficiently, and in an exemplary manner. Responsible for accurately processing financial transactions and being an effective source of information for members in the lobby, drive-thru window, or by telephone. Provides friendly, professional, confidential, and effective assistance to members, assuring a positive experience and minimizing wait time. All tellers will need to report to their shift 15 minutes early. Regular attendance is an essential job function. Monday- Friday, 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of one year cash handling and/or customer service experience.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic reading, writing, math, and communication skills.
  • Outgoing personality with a positive attitude.

Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Perform routine transactions, including loan payments, deposits, withdrawals, transfers, general ledger entries, MasterCard/VISA cash advances, cashier’s checks, and check cashing.
  • Demonstrate efficiency and accuracy with financial transactions for members; receive funds, post transactions, and pay out funds as requested.
  • Balance cash drawer daily to ensure accuracy in transactions. Be 100% balanced daily.
  • Research, troubleshoot, and resolve members' and internal inquiries regarding policies/procedures and products.
  • Greet members with a friendly and helpful attitude.
  • Update name, address, or joint account information.
  • Confirms intended transactions with members to ensure meeting needs and minimizing errors.
  • Responsible for performing closing duties.
  • Perform closing procedures such as turning off lights, closing lanes off, etc...
  • Keep the teller supervisor informed of any out-of-the-ordinary situation.
  • Learn and maintain a thorough working knowledge of Credit Union policies & procedures and stay current with trends within the credit union industry.
  • Maintains member’s information confidential.
  • Must follow all ACFCU’s policies and procedures. Maintain knowledge of all state and federal regulations that apply to Service Center positions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
