Job description

  • Due to tremendous growth, Ace Disposal is hiring Document Destruction Drivers to service the Salt Lake County area.

    Position Summary:

    The On-Site Document Destruction Driver is responsible for providing secure, professional, and efficient on-site document destruction services to ACE Recycling & Disposal customers. This position operates a mobile shredding truck, ensuring confidential documents are securely destroyed at customer locations while delivering exceptional customer service.

    The driver is responsible for safely operating equipment, maintaining accurate service records, protecting confidential information, and representing ACE with professionalism. Safety is the highest priority in every aspect of this position, and all duties must be performed in accordance with ACE Recycling & Disposal's Safety Manual, Employee Handbook, and company policies.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • - Safely operate a mobile document destruction (shredding) truck.

      - Travel to customer locations to perform secure, on-site document destruction services.

      - Verify service orders and ensure all scheduled pickups are completed accurately and efficiently.

      - Maintain complete chain-of-custody procedures to protect confidential customer information.

      - Load, unload, and operate shredding equipment safely and efficiently.

      - Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.

      - Maintain accurate route documentation, service records, and electronic logs.

      - Operate tablets, GPS, routing software, and other electronic equipment.

      - Communicate effectively with dispatch, supervisors, and customers throughout the workday.

      - Inspect equipment daily and report maintenance concerns promptly.

      - Keep vehicles clean, organized, and in safe operating condition.

      - Provide courteous, professional customer service while representing ACE Recycling & Disposal.

      - Follow all DOT regulations (when applicable), company safety procedures, and traffic laws.

      - Assist with other operational duties as assigned.

    Schedule:

    • Hours 5:00 AM - 3:00 PM

    • Mandatory overtime, including every other Saturday

    Starting Pay:

    • Depending on experience


Qualifications

Education & Experience

- Valid driver's license required.

- CDL required.

- Clean driving record required.

- Previous commercial driving or route service experience preferred.

- Experience operating hydraulic equipment or heavy equipment is a plus.

- Ability to read maps, follow routes, and locate customer addresses.

- Strong organizational and time management skills.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

- Excellent customer service and communication skills.

- Ability to protect confidential information with professionalism and integrity.

- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

- Basic math and recordkeeping skills.

- Ability to use electronic tablets, routing software, and mobile applications.

- Ability to prioritize daily routes and adjust to changing schedules.

- Commitment to workplace safety and safe driving practices.

Physical Requirements

This position regularly requires:

- Lifting up to 50 pounds.

- Pushing and pulling containers weighing up to 3,000 pounds with proper equipment.

- Driving for extended periods.

- Working outdoors in all weather conditions.

Work Environment

The majority of the workday is spent operating a mobile shredding truck while traveling to customer locations throughout the service area.

Employees should expect exposure to:

- Heat, cold, rain, snow, and other outdoor conditions.

- Traffic and construction zones.

- Noise generated by industrial shredding equipment.

- Dust and occasional odors associated with waste and recycling operations.

Required personal protective equipment (PPE) includes steel-toed boots, safety glasses, and any additional PPE required by company policy.
