Job description

Description:

Engineering Systems Technology is a privately owned fire alarm and engineering company operating for over thirty years in the south Florida market. We seek the right individual to join our family as a Fire Alarm Draft Person.


Responsibilities:

Prepare fire alarm shop drawings in accordance with project specifications, code requirements (NFPA, FBC), and company standards

Review construction drawings and specifications to develop accurate fire alarm system layouts

Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and field technicians to ensure design accuracy and compliance

Revise drawings based on markups, field changes, and AHJ comments

Maintain organized project files and documentation

Assist with submittal packages and permit drawings

Other drafting and office-related tasks as needed


Requirements:

Proficiency in AutoCAD (experience with Revit is a plus)

Knowledge of fire alarm systems and applicable codes (NFPA 72 preferred)

Proficiency in Google Suite or Microsoft Office

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications

Solid written and verbal communication skills

Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise

Excellent organizational skills

Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks

Work well in a team environment


Job Type: Full-time


Pay: $20.00 - $35.00 per hour (based on experience)

Education:

High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Associate’s degree or technical certification in drafting/design (Preferred)


Experience:

AutoCAD Drafting: 2 years (Preferred)

Fire Alarm Systems: 1–2 years (Preferred)
