These professionals are trained to perform both clinical and administrative duties in settings like hospitals, clinics, and physician offices. Their responsibilities may include taking patient histories, assisting with exams, administering injections, and managing medical records. Accreditation ensures that the medical assistant has met national standards for knowledge and competency, providing quality care to patients and support to healthcare teams.
