Job description

The Staff Accountant - AP is responsible for timely and accurate processing of accounts payable (“AP”), while also ensuring adherence to financial internal controls and regulatory compliance requirements. This role will act as liaison between Finance and other internal departments, along with vendors for all matters related to the AP function.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintains all aspects of the AP module, including processing invoices, routing invoices for appropriate approvals, and issuance of check and ACH payments.
  • Reconciles AP payable check and ACH registers.
  • Reconciles key daily general ledger accounts, including accounts payable suspense and auto-debit clearing account.
  • Researches and resolves invoice or payment discrepancies and issues.
  • Prepares and remits monthly sales and use tax.
  • Prepares and remits 1099 filings.
  • Collaborates with internal and external parties on any accounts payable related matters, including issues that may need to be corrected.
  • Assist in gathering information for internal and external auditors, regulatory examiners, and any other 3rd party requesting financial information.
  • Support SOX compliance efforts by maintaining and implementing controls and processes.
  • Perform additional duties as requested, needed or assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Associate's degree in accounting, Finance or Business AdministrationMinimum 1 years of experience in banking or banking-related field
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and techniques
  • Must have computer skills and work proficiently with Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of Fiserv Prologue Financials, a plus
  • Knowledge of PCAOB standards and SOX, a plus

The pay range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the pay range for this job at the time of posting. Actual pay may vary based on experience, skills, and market factors; additional compensation may apply.
