Job description

Robert Half is currently recruiting for an Accounting Manager to lead core accounting operations and maintain accurate financial reporting for our client in the Knoxville, Tennessee area. This role is responsible for overseeing close activities, strengthening controls across daily transactions, and ensuring account activity is recorded and reconciled with precision. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to support both routine reporting needs and broader planning efforts.


Responsibilities:

• Direct the monthly and year-end close process, ensuring deadlines are met and financial data is complete and accurate.

• Manage general ledger activity, including the review and approval of journal entries and supporting documentation.

• Oversee reconciliations for bank accounts and balance sheet accounts, resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.

• Supervise accounts payable and accounts receivable workflows to promote accurate processing and effective cash management.

• Prepare internal financial reports and assist with external audit requests by organizing records and responding to inquiries.

• Support budgeting and forecasting activities by analyzing results, identifying trends, and contributing to financial planning.

• Monitor accounting procedures and recommend improvements that enhance efficiency, consistency, and compliance.

• Utilize Sage 50 and other accounting tools to maintain records, generate reports, and support daily financial operations.
