Job description

RBC Bearings Incorporated (NYSE: RBC) is a leading international manufacturer of highly engineered precision bearings, components and essential systems for the industrial, defense and aerospace industries. Founded in 1919, the Company is primarily focused on producing highly technical and/or regulated bearing products and components requiring sophisticated design, testing and manufacturing capabilities for the diversified industrial, aerospace and defense markets.  We currently have 60 facilities, of which 43 are manufacturing facilities in ten countries and our market capitalization is approximately $14.5 billion.

OBJECTIVE

Accounting Clerk is responsible for providing accounting and clerical support to the accounting department. This role involves maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and recording a wide range of transactions. The Accounting Clerk ensures the accuracy of financial documentation and assists accountants with various administrative tasks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain Financial Records: Keep financial records updated and ensure their accuracy.
  • Prepare Reports: Generate financial reports needed for the business.
  • Record Transactions: Enter key data of financial transactions into the database/ERP system.
  • Reconcile Accounts: Reconcile bank statements and accounts in a timely manner.
  • Administrative Support: Provide clerical support to the accounting department, including typing, preparing, and maintaining accounting documents and records.
  • Handle Invoices: Process invoices, organize office mail, and manage customer and vendor accounts.
  • Resolve Discrepancies: Research, track, and resolve accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies.
  • Compliance: Ensure all functions are performed in accordance with established standards, procedures, and applicable laws.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Experience: Proven accounting experience, preferably as an Accounts Receivable or Accounts Payable Clerk.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures.
  • Technical Skills: Competency in MS Office, databases, and accounting software
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Communication: Good communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.

EDUCATION

  • An Associate of Business Degree in Accounting/Finance desired but not required

MEASURES OF PERFORMANCE

  • Contribution to team effort to accomplish Company objectives and improve profits
  • Demonstrates a high level of professionalism and competence in explaining corporate accounting policies and procedures to customers and staff
  • Contributes analysis and undertakes projects that significantly improve staff productivity or the timeliness/usefulness of key information provided to management
