Doeren Mayhew is seeking a Tax Associate to join our Grand Haven, MI office.
Our associates have the opportunity to work with a variety of clients in industries such as manufacturing, construction, dealership, real estate, wholesale and distribution, retail and more. Doeren Mayhew offers a diversified experience in public accounting, providing our employees with many opportunities to grow, develop and advance within their careers.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist with preparation of various tax returns including individuals, C-Corp, S-Corp, partnerships, trust, estate, etc. for clients in a variety of industries
  • Demonstrate intermediate technical aptitude of taxation and can handle complex returns and projects with confidence
  • Utilize analytical and decision-making skills to solve complex technical issues
  • Maintain timely and accurate communication with team and clients to manage expectations, deadlines, and deliverables
  • Assist with training new employees and interns on firm technology, processes and procedures
  • Present new ideas and improvements for ways of performing tasks in order to achieve firm and departmental goals
  • Seek opportunities to participate in practice development to build network of referral sources.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • CPA License preferred, CPA-eligible, or has a progressive plan toward passing the CPA exam in place
  • Willingness to pursue Master's Degree in Taxation or Master's Degree in Accounting
  • Prior experience in domestic tax at public accounting firm preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, but also in a team environment
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new technology platforms
  • Ability to manage multiple projects/clients and deadlines
  • CCH Axcess software experience a plus
