Senior Accountant

Our client located in Dallas, TX has an immediate need for a Senior Accountant. This is a direct hire, fully in office opportunity.

Client Profile

Specialized pediatric pharmacy serving Texas

Senior Accountant Role
  • Support the Controller with monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and financial reporting.
  • Prepare journal entries, accruals, general ledger reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  • Review general ledger activity for accuracy, appropriate coding, and unusual or unsupported transactions.
  • Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts, including cash, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accrued expenses, payroll, and intercompany accounts.
  • Provide oversight and backup support for Accounts Payable, including invoice coding, vendor reconciliations, AP aging, and payment processing.
  • Review and reconcile Accounts Receivable balances, payments, credits, refunds, aging reports, and collection activity.
  • Support payroll accounting and reconcile payroll, benefits, 401(k), HSA/FSA, PTO, and related accounts as needed.
  • Research accounting discrepancies and partner with appropriate departments to resolve outstanding items.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
  • Review accounting work and provide day to day guidance to Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, payroll, and other accounting staff as assigned.
  • Partner with the Controller to maintain and improve accounting policies, procedures, internal controls, and workflows.
  • Coordinate with other departments on accounting matters, process improvements, and special projects.
  • Perform additional accounting responsibilities and special projects as assigned by the Controller and CEO.
Senior Accountant Background Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and month end close.
  • Hands on experience preparing journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and analytical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Experience with Sage 300 or similar accounting software preferred.
  • Ability to research discrepancies, identify solutions, and work independently.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Previous experience providing guidance or oversight to accounting team members preferred.
  • Healthcare, pharmacy, or long term care industry experience is a plus.
