Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Cloud Infrastructure Engineer with strong AWS Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) expertise to design, deploy, manage, and optimize scalable, secure, and highly available cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience building AWS infrastructure from the ground up, along with exposure to multi-cloud platforms and virtualization technologies such as Nutanix Hypervisor.
As a member of the Infrastructure Engineering team, you will be responsible for cloud architecture, automation, operational support, infrastructure optimization, disaster recovery planning, and continuous improvement initiatives across the organization's technology landscape.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud Infrastructure & Operations
- Design, deploy, manage, and support scalable, highly available, and secure AWS cloud infrastructure.
- Build and maintain AWS environments from the ground up following infrastructure best practices.
- Implement, configure, and support AWS services including EC2, VPC, S3, RDS, Lambda, ECS/EKS, Route 53, CloudFront, and IAM.
- Monitor infrastructure performance, availability, and security utilizing CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and third-party monitoring tools.
- Support disaster recovery, backup strategies, and business continuity initiatives.
- Perform system troubleshooting, root cause analysis, incident response, and problem resolution.
Automation & Process Improvement
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and deployment processes.
- Create automation solutions to reduce manual tasks, improve operational efficiency, and streamline workflows.
- Evaluate existing solutions and practices, identify improvement opportunities, and recommend technical enhancements.
- Drive continuous process and infrastructure improvements across the organization.
Collaboration & Engineering Support
- Collaborate with development, security, networking, and operations teams to support application deployments and cloud initiatives.
- Participate in infrastructure design reviews and engage with cross-functional teams for peer review of proposed changes.
- Work closely with technical support teams to resolve critical infrastructure issues and implement timely solutions.
- Respond to operational requests and support business requirements through effective communication and technical expertise.
Documentation & Standards
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, operational procedures, standards, and policies.
- Create engineering-level documentation consumable by system administration, operations, and support teams.
- Produce deployment and implementation documentation using tools such as Visio, Word, Excel, and PowerShell.
- Maintain current knowledge of cloud technologies, infrastructure best practices, and emerging industry trends.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Cloud Infrastructure Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related roles.
- Strong hands-on AWS experience with an Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) focus.
- Proven experience designing and building AWS environments from the ground up.
- Expertise with AWS services including EC2, VPC, S3, RDS, Lambda, ECS/EKS, Route 53, CloudFront, IAM, CloudWatch, and CloudTrail.
- Experience with infrastructure automation, scripting, and configuration management.
- Strong troubleshooting, incident management, and root cause analysis skills.
- Experience creating technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational procedures.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Multi-cloud experience with platforms such as Azure and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Experience with Nutanix Hypervisor and virtualization technologies.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- PowerShell scripting experience.
- AWS certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, AWS SysOps Administrator, or AWS DevOps Engineer.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration platforms including ECS and Kubernetes (EKS).
