Job description

Sr. Accountant

Job Summary:

Responsible for accounting, planning, reporting, and analysis of assigned business activity. Completes GAAP compliant accounting and controls for assigned areas, provides support to business partners in budget development and management, and completes financial processes and projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify trends and advise leadership on recommended action or controls for implementation. Monitor budget, and complete internal audits to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and controls.
  • Optimize department-wide processes, identify improvements, and drive the development, design and implementation of changes, communicating with leadership and key stakeholders throughout the process.
  • Prepare, review and process journal entries as required to accurately reflect financial activities for a given period. Ensure financial reporting complies with GAAP accounting principles and act as key resource for external audits.
  • Consolidate monthly reports
  • Run month end close general ledger sub-ledger balancing and allocation processes
  • Prepare and transfer financial data files and reconcile in parent company general ledger
  • Download AR & AP Report and prepare post closing entries
  • Prepare account analysis and supporting financial schedules
  • Complete and review monthly reconciliations, validating that all balances are supported in accordance with established Accounting practices. Communicate any deviations from policy to management, and propose adjusted journal entries as needed.
  • Complete J-Sox testing for sister companies
  • Lead on-boarding of new employees and support the continuous development of Accounting team members.
  • Support Divisional and Corporate Finance goals, completing projects as assigned.

  • May include: standing, walking, bending, reaching, grabbing, twisting, carrying, pushing and pulling.
