Corporate Staff Accountant
Colwen Hotels | Hospitality Accounting & Finance
At Colwen Hotels, we believe great hospitality starts behind the scenes. Our accounting team plays a critical role in supporting the operational and financial success of a growing portfolio of hotels across the eastern United States. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Corporate Staff Accountant to join our corporate accounting team. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative, fast-paced hospitality environment while gaining exposure to multi-property hotel accounting operations. This position may be based either at our Portsmouth, NH or Andover, MA offices.

What You'll Do
As a Corporate Staff Accountant, you will support the financial operations of multiple hotel properties and assist with month-end close, reporting, reconciliations, and compliance processes.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements for assigned hotel properties
  • Reconcile bank accounts and general ledger accounts
  • Prepare and post journal entries including accruals, prepaids, and reclasses
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and use tax filings
  • Support accounts receivable research and discrepancy resolution
  • Participate in month-end and year-end close processes
  • Assist with external audits and financial reporting requests
  • Collaborate with hotel operations teams and corporate departments
  • Support process improvements and special accounting projects as needed

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 2+ years of accounting experience preferred
  • Hospitality, multi-entity, or multi-location accounting experience is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience with Sage Intacct or similar accounting systems preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality in handling financial information
