Accounting Operations Specialist
Vesta, Inc. is seeking an experienced Accounting Operations Specialist to support the accurate processing, reconciliation, and reporting of financial transactions across the organization. This role is essential to maintaining compliance, supporting audits, and ensuring strong financial controls. The position reports to the Finance Director and works closely with regional and cross-functional teams.
Position Details:
  • Full-Time: Monday to Friday 8 - 4:30pm, with flexibility as needed.
  • Position Type: Exempt
  • Location: Lanham, MD
Sign-on Bonus: $5000.00
Key Responsibilities
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoices, deposits, and vendor inquiries
  • Complete monthly bank and credit card reconciliations in Microsoft Business Central
  • Process journal entries, accruals, and reallocations
  • Manage organizational credit card transactions and expense allocations
  • Review financial and Power BI reports, identify discrepancies, and correct errors
  • Support HUD, SSA, IRS, and state compliance requirements, including annual 1099 processing
  • Processes biweekly and monthly payroll
  • Assist with internal and external audits
  • Provide professional customer service and respond to internal and external inquiries
  • Participate in finance meetings, trainings, and ongoing compliance activities
Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Bachelor’s preferred)
  • 3–5 years of accounting operations experience
  • Strong working knowledge of AP, AR, and reconciliations
  • Knowledge of GAAP and IRS reporting requirements (including 1099s)
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Business Central, Power BI, and Excel
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams
  • Valid driver’s license, clear driving record, and reliable transportation
  • Background check and drug screening required.

Compensation and Benefits:
- Pay Range: $58,349.50 - $65,351.44/year, paid bi-weekly. $5,000 sign-on bonus!
Other Compensation: Employees are eligible for bonuses (variable, depending on company and individual performance) and paid training.
- PTO: New employees can accrue up to 96 hours of PTO in the first year (pro-rated based on start date and hours worked). Employees can accrue up to 40 hours of sick leave per calendar year (pro-rated based on start date and hours worked).
- Holidays: Full-Time employees receive 8 paid holidays per year.
- Retirement: 403(b) plan participation available at hire. Employer matching after 1000 hours of service. Discretionary employer contributions are given at least once a year.
- Health Benefits: Full and Part-Time Employees are eligible for benefits beginning the first day of the month after hire. Benefits include Medical, Dental, and Vision (single and family), flex-spending accounts (FSA and Dependent Care).
- Company-Paid Benefits: Full-Time employees are eligible for Long-Term Disability and Basic Life/AD amp;D. All employees are eligible for the Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
- Other Voluntary Benefits: Full-Time employees are eligible for Short-Term Disability coverage.
