TraskBritt, P.C. is a well-established intellectual property law firm serving innovators and businesses for more than 50 years.

We're seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead our accounting department and help modernize our accounting and billing operations. This is a full time, in-office position in Salt Lake City, Utah.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys learning complex processes, improving efficiency, and building strong teams. You'll begin by gaining a thorough understanding of our unique intellectual property billing environment before assuming full leadership of the department and helping hire and develop an Accounting Specialist.

What You'll Do

  • Learn and oversee the firm's complex intellectual property billing and accounting processes.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify workflows, improve efficiency, and strengthen internal controls.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the Accounting Department.
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, collections, and general ledger accounting.
  • Lead the monthly and year-end close processes.
  • Prepare financial statements and management reports.
  • Partner with the Executive Director on budgeting, financial planning, and operational decision-making.
  • Coordinate annual audits and tax preparation.
  • Drive continuous improvement through process enhancements and effective use of technology.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Five or more years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Previous supervisory or management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, month-end close, and internal controls.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with accounting software.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • A collaborative leader with a continuous improvement mindset.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with legal, intellectual property, or other complex professional services billing.
  • Experience with legal billing or practice management software (PerfectLaw, ProLaw).
  • CPA designation is a plus but not required.
