Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:

This is a hands-on leadership role focused on supporting the successful launch and ongoing accounting oversight of MEHITS US, Inc. as it establishes operations in the United States. The position will coordinate closely with MEHITS S.p.A. (Italy), MEHITS US leadership, and MEUS shared services to ensure the U.S. accounting model is practical, well-controlled, and aligned with business needs. The role also supports MEUS manufacturing shared services operations under the direction of the Manufacturing Group Accounting Director.

The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to the following:

MEHITS US Accounting Management

  • Serve as the Senior Accounting Manager for MEHITS US, Inc., with overall responsibility for the entitys accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance, and financial stewardship.

  • Support the startup of MEHITS US operations in the United States by establishing practical accounting processes, utilizing shared services provided by MEUS.

  • Work closely with MEHITS Italy and MEHITS US leadership to align accounting practices, financial reporting requirements, intercompany processes, and operational objectives.

  • Participate as a key business and accounting representative on the SAP implementation project team led by the MEHITS team in Italy. Travel to Italy will be required.

  • Lead month-end and year-end close activities for MEHITS US, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company policies.

  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules to ensure the integrity of financial records.

  • Manage intercompany accounting activities and support consolidated reporting requirements.

  • Partner with MEHITS US management to support budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and decision-making for the U.S. operation.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Manufacturing Shared Services Support

  • Assist in the month-end closing cycles and support reporting needs related to manufacturing operations, including financial close activities, cost center performance, inventory accounting, and manufacturing costs.

  • Manage cost allocation calculations to support manufacturing shared services operations.

  • Support manufacturing operations through production order closing, monthly cycle counts, and semi-annual physical inventory activities.

  • Assist with cost accounting processes, including the establishment and maintenance of standard costs.

  • Assist with the intercompany financial statement reporting process as needed (CDGIS).

  • Support the maintenance of fixed asset records, ensuring assets are properly classified and accurately recorded.

  • Analyze operating results and business conditions to recommend policies, procedures, and process improvements that support operational efficiency and financial performance.

  • Support the preparation and maintenance of operating budgets and provide periodic reporting on financial and budgetary performance.

Other Responsibilities

  • Coordinate internal and external audit activities by preparing schedules, supporting documentation, explanations, and other required information.

  • Support JSOX compliance and maintain an effective internal control environment for MEHITS US.

  • Maintain awareness of current accounting, financial reporting, and manufacturing accounting practices and recommend improvements to policies and procedures as appropriate.

  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or related field, plus a minimum of 7-10 years of progressive accounting or finance experience in a manufacturing environment, or equivalent experience, and prior supervisory experience.

  • Experience managing legal entity accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, and audit support preferred.

  • Experience supporting new business operations, system implementations, or process design activities preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, cost accounting, and internal control practices. CPA preferred.

  • Written, verbal, analytical, and cross-cultural communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with U.S. and international teams.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including advanced Excel skills such as PivotTables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP.

  • SAP experience required, JDE experience preferred.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $128,000/yr and $176,000/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including commissions based on achieving individual performance and/or sales metrics, incentive compensation and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these additional compensation and benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employee will be in an at-will position and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
