Job description

Job title: Accounting Manager
Reports to: Director of Finance
Supervisory Responsibilities: Accountant
Summary/objective: Specialty Tooling Systems (STS) is seeking an Accounting Manager to add to their team! The Accounting Manager will be responsible for various accounting, human resources and clerical duties for the company.
Essential functions:
  • Manage accounts receivable, including billing, collection calls, cash receipts, etc.
  • Administer payroll, including payroll taxes
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements
  • Perform office responsibilities, including answering phones, copying, faxing, etc.
  • Aid with the coordination and execution of projects and tasks assigned by the Director of Finance, including projections, cash flows and other ad hoc reports
  • Oversee the overall functionality of the office by ordering supplies, setting up and maintaining services
  • Prepare for meetings by aiding with scheduling coordination, presentation assembly and facility setup
  • Maintain employee files
  • Facilitate new hire onboarding and orientation
  • Assist with administration of employee health and welfare benefits
  • Coordinate with employee and insurance company on submissions of workers compensation claims

Required competency, education, and experience:
  • Degree in Accounting or related field
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook)
  • Accounting experience (AP, AR, Payroll, etc)
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality on sensitive projects
  • Quick learner and able to adapt to ever changing needs
  • Ability to maintain a professional appearance at all times

Preferred education and experience:
  • At least 5 years of Accounting experience (AP, AR, Payroll, etc)
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment

Physical Demands:
  • High manual dexterity of hands and fingers
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time
  • Ability to use a computer for a prolonged amount of time
  • Ability to move or lift files and boxes up to 20 pounds

Work environment: Office setting in a manufacturing environment.
Position type and expected hours of work: Full time, Monday-Friday. 40 hours per week with occasional overtime when necessary.
Travel: None.
