Accounting Specialist
Location: Baton Rouge, LA
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday
Salary Range: $75,000-$85,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications
Window World is a growing home services and window replacement company committed to delivering exceptional customer service and operational excellence. As we continue to expand, we are seeking an Accounting Specialist to join our accounting team and support the financial operations of the business.
The Accounting Specialist will report to the Assistant Controller/Accounting Manager and play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end close activities, reconciling accounts, and assisting with various accounting functions. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys detailed accounting work, resolving discrepancies, improving processes, and contributing to a collaborative team environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support month-end close by preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  • Reconcile assigned general ledger accounts and investigate variances.
  • Assist with bank, credit card, vendor, inventory, fleet, and intercompany reconciliations.
  • Review accounting transactions for accuracy, coding, completeness, and proper documentation.
  • Support accounts payable activities, expense coding, vendor research, and payment documentation as needed.
  • Assist with fixed asset, inventory, fleet, and job cost accounting records.
  • Prepare recurring reports for management review and decision-making.
  • Maintain organized accounting files and audit support documentation.
  • Assist with internal controls, accounting procedures, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with internal departments to resolve accounting questions and discrepancies.
  • Provide backup support to other accounting team members during peak periods.
  • Perform other accounting and finance duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • 3-5+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, accounts payable, or account reconciliation experience preferred.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
  • Strong understanding of debits, credits, reconciliations, and financial documentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and follow-through abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
