Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that supports the independently incorporated Planned Parenthood affiliates, which operate non-profit health centers across the U.S. PPFA also works to educate the public on and advocate for issues of sexual and reproductive health. Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) and Planned Parenthood Action Fund (Action Fund) seek a Revenue Accounting Intern. This job reports to the Manager of Revenue in the Accounting department of the Finance division. The Finance Department provides confidence to all stakeholders in the fiscal and fiduciary responsibility of Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA), Planned Parenthood Action Fund (PPAF) and its related entities, and Planned Parenthood Global (PP Global) and its related entities (collectively the Organizations) with a commitment to customer service, sound controls, compliance monitoring, and timely, accurate, and complete reporting, analysis and decision support to further the Federation's mission.

Purpose:
As a key contributor to the Accounting team, the Revenue Accounting intern will provide support in reconciling and reporting on revenue.
Engagement:

The Revenue Accounting Intern will build strong partnerships with other areas of the Finance and Accounting teams, as well as with Development, People Culture & Equity, and other subject matter experts to drive efficiencies, facilitate data-driven decision making and add value to the Accounting Team. The Revenue Accounting Intern will work closely with all members of Revenue Accounting to properly reconcile revenue accounts in accordance with GAAP.

Delivery:
  • Assist the Manager of Revenue and Sr. Revenue Accountant in the reconciliation of key revenue accounts.
  • Reconcile cash, credit card, and stock donations with bank statements and investigate and resolve variances.
  • Performs monthly revenue reconciliations as part of the financial closing process.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):
  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • Have a mindset for continuous improvement, actively looking to leverage new technologies and build efficiencies to minimize manual and repetitive tasks.
    Ability to recognize and respond to problems in a highly professional, confidential and sensitive manner.
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision and be able to take the initiative to identify and solve potential problems.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a dynamic, results-driven, high-performing team, and act as a SME for various partners within the organization
    Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft and Google products.
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to quickly changing priorities and ambiguous situations
