Job Summary

Teledyne FLIR is seeking an experienced Accounting & Financial Analyst to support a portfolio of defense programs within the Detection business unit. This highly visible role serves as a key financial partner to program managers, engineering teams, and business leadership by providing budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, cost analysis, reporting, and project performance insights.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and other month-end close activities to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations, investigate variances, and resolve discrepancies.

  • Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close processes while maintaining compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.

  • Assist with financial reporting, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data.

  • Support internal and external audits and ensure adherence to corporate financial policies, U.S. GAAP, and government contract requirements.

  • Develop and maintain financial models, forecasts, budgets, and scenario analyses to support business objectives and strategic decision-making.

  • Monitor program budgets, actuals, forecasts, and funding utilization across contract and Internal Research & Development (IRAD) portfolios.

  • Analyze labor, material, and project costs, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities to improve financial performance.

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, dashboards, and performance metrics for business leaders.

  • Support annual operating plan (AOP), forecasting, and long-range planning processes.

  • Partner with program managers, engineering teams, and business leaders to provide financial analysis and decision support.

  • Collaborate with accounting, operations, contracts, and other stakeholders to support program execution, reporting, and process improvements.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.

  • 5+ years of experience in accounting, financial analysis, FP&A, program finance, project finance, cost accounting, project accounting, or related finance roles.

  • Advanced Excel skills, including financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, scenario analysis, and variance analysis.

  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems is preferred.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a cross-functional environment.

  • U.S. Citizenship required due to government contract requirements.
