Looking for an opportunity to make a real impact? We’re currently recruiting for a Junior Financial Accountant to join our amazing team of talented employees for a 14-month contract. This is a hybrid role, our office is in Richmond, BC, so we’re ideally looking for a candidate in the Greater Vancouver Area.

What you do:

Reporting to the Senior Financial Accountant, the Junior Financial Accountant is a key contributor in the preparation and analysis of Boston Pizza International Inc.’s (“BPI”) monthly financial and departmental statements, key account reconciliations, management reports, and the preparation of quarterly and annual audit and tax working papers. In this role you will:

  • Prepare and review Full Cycle Accounting for BPI:
    • Prepare journal entries and monthly reconciliations of general ledger accounts.
    • Prepare and perform variance analysis of financial statements and management reports.
    • Compile monthly billback invoice listings and provide backup support as needed.
    • Review accounts payable transactions and provide back up and support as needed, including some administrative tasks
  • Prepare quarterly and annual audit working papers for BPI
  • Prepare and process treasury tasks, including:
    • Weekly cash management
    • Monthly Bank Reconciliations
    • Bank deposits as required
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual filings, including:
    • GST/HST/QST returns
    • Statistics Canada surveys

Who you are:

  • You have a post-secondary diploma in Business, Accounting or Finance.
  • You have a minimum of 1 year of progressive accounting experience. Experience using Sage or other Enterprise Resource Planning (“ERP”) systems would be an asset.
  • You may be working towards a CPA designation.
  • You are proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • You have strong attention to detail, communication (verbal and written), organizational, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.
  • You are able to multi-task, work independently and in a team environment; thrive in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment, and maintain confidentiality.
