Position Summary

We’re seeking a collaborative and experienced part-time Accounting Associate to join our dedicated team, making a meaningful impact by working together to support our students, staff, alumni and community. The Accounting Associate, reporting to the Accounting Manager, will assist with the School's day-to-day accounting functions and ensure the integrity of all financial data by performing bookkeeping, data entry, and administrative tasks such as processing invoices, managing accounts payable/receivable, reconciling statements, and maintaining financial records. Key duties include data accuracy, preparing financial documents, and utilizing accounting software, with essential skills like attention to detail, organizational ability, and familiarity with Excel and accounting principles.

Job Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Accounting Manager:

  • Assists with monthly journal entries in Blackbaud Financial Edge.
  • Processes all student billings in Blackbaud Tuition Management system.
  • Processes Accounts Payable and Receivable entries.
  • Updates vendor records as directed by the Accounting Manager.
  • Processes monthly credit card activity.
  • Prepares support for semi-monthly and bi-weekly payrolls incorporating updates to withholdings provided by Human Resources including 403(b), benefit deductions, stipends, and auxiliary revenue accounting.
  • Assists with review of activity from Raiser’s Edge into Financial Edge and monthly reconciliation of data between each platform.
  • Prepares cash transaction entries and assists with reconciliation of cash accounts.
  • Supports and is willing to advance the Catholic and Jesuit mission of the school.
  • Performs responsibilities in collaboration and conformity with the policies of Regis and is always subject to the general control and supervision of the Director of Finance.
  • And any other job responsibilities as assigned.

 Qualifications & Skills

  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with accounting software, particularly Blackbaud Financial Edge, is a plus.
  • Attention to detail, organization and time management skills, aptitude for identifying and resolving financial discrepancies.
  • Competent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.

 Education

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.

Experience:

  • 1 – 3 years of experience in accounting, finance, or a similar role, ideally within the nonprofit sector or in education.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and procedures.

Status

This is a part-time position, approximately 20 hours a week.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range is $28.00 – $32.00 per hour +, commensurate with years of experience and skillset.
