Job description

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
The Accounting Associate will assist in the daily operations of the Ministry Accounting Services.This role will assist in managing and overseeing the day-to-day accounting activities, ensuringย financial transparency and accuracy in all church-related transactions. The Accountingย Associate will play an important role in maintaining financial records, processing contributions,ย and assisting with budgeting, reporting, and audits. This includes certain clerical duties asย assigned. This is a part-time role with an expecation of 25-28 hours per week.ย

The Accounting Associate reports to the Supervisor, Ministry Accounting Services.

BROAD JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Process invoices, contributions, and payments, ensuring accurate coding and timelyย 
processing of all transactions.
2. Record and track individual and group donations, ensuring accurate documentation forย 
tax purposes and issuing receipts as needed.
3. Assist in preparing financial reports, including balance sheets, profit and lossย 
statements, and budget vs. actual reports for church leadership.
4. Help maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring proper classification andย 
accurate reporting of financial data.
5. Assist in preparing the annual church budget and track actual expenditures against theย 
budget, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
6. Follow set standard operating procedures for all accounting services processing
7. Document correspondence and scan mailings in appropriate WatersEdge software
8. Engage the Supervisor, Ministry Accounting Services regarding the progress,ย 
challenges, and success of the Program
