 Responsibilities
  • Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including journal entries, accruals, reclassifications, allocations, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Oversee or support assigned general ledger and operational accounting areas, which may include cash, fixed assets, payroll, accounts payable, employee expenses, tax-related activity, and intercompany accounting.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the procure-to-pay process and help oversee accounting activities and controls associated with internal P2P application.
  • Participate in finance system implementations and enhancements, including testing, issue resolution, documentation, and process design.
  • Oversee or support the Navan travel and expense reimbursement process and help resolve employee expense issues.
  • Review cash reconciliations, investigate reconciling items, and assist with reporting on the company's cash position.
  • Support fixed asset accounting, including additions, disposals, transfers, depreciation, and related reconciliations.
  • Prepare payroll-related entries, accruals, and reconciliations and investigate accounting differences as needed.
  • Partner with FP&A and other stakeholders during the close to ensure transactions are complete, properly classified, and recorded in the appropriate period.
  • Support accounting for new and existing entities, including reviewing work performed by external service providers and assisting with intercompany entries and reconciliations.
  • Assist with tax-related accounting activities, payment coordination, and supporting schedules.
  • Support international accounting activities, including working with foreign entities, external service providers, and related reporting requirements.
  • Serve as a backup for other senior members of the Accounting team, providing coverage and continuity for key accounting processes as needed.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and automate manual accounting activities, using data-analysis and AI-enabled tools where appropriate.
  • Support audits, system projects, and other accounting initiatives, and provide backup support across Accounting and Finance processes as needed.
  • Take on additional responsibilities such as the business, systems environment, and Accounting organization continue to evolve.
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Four or more years of progressive accounting experience, including hands-on general ledger and month-end close responsibilities.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and general accounting principles.
  • Experience preparing journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and financial analyses.
  • Experience working with ERP and financial systems.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and the ability to analyze detailed financial data.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to independently investigate accounting and system issues.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and follow-through, with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with Accounting, FP&A, Procurement, Payroll, Tax, and other business partners.
Preferred
  • Experience using NetSuite, including familiarity with fixed asset functionality.
  • Experience in a technology, software, SaaS, or other fast-paced business environment.
  • Familiarity with procure-to-pay and travel and expense processes.
  • Experience with multi-entity and intercompany accounting.
