Equity Research Associate Intern

 

How does the role impact the organization?

The Equity Capital Markets division, a team of analysts covering approximately 250 companies, has a solid commitment to investment research, investment banking, and institutional sales and trading. Associates play a critical role assisting in all tasks required for the Equity Research Analyst to stay abreast of market events with the end-goal of providing sound investment judgement on particular stocks to clients. Individuals in this role are continuously learning and developing their investment analysis and securities evaluation skills in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment. We are looking for an exceptional candidate who has exemplary writing skills and is an excellent communicator.

What will your role be responsible for?

  • Work with analysts to conduct thorough analysis of the industries and targeted companies; and
  • Participate in due diligence requirements analyzing industry and company data, developing and maintaining financial models, writing research, and verbal presentations to equity sales/trading personnel and institutional clients. 

To qualify for this opportunity you possess:

  • An understanding of accounting and financial analysis principles including financial modelling
  • Financial modelling skills, preferred;
  • The ability to work within deadlines in a high-volume and demanding environment while maintaining an imperative attention to detail; 
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to prioritize;
  • Willingness to work long hours when necessary to meet time-sensitive deadlines; and
  • An outgoing personality that will fit into a high-performing, team-oriented environment.

Educational/Previous Experience Requirements

  • Working towards or have an undergraduate/postgraduate degree, preferably in Business, Economics, or Accounting;
  • Intern experience in equity research, corporate finance or relevant industry preferred;

Salary Range: $50,000 - 60,000 annually, in addition to competitive performance bonuses/incentives.

Actual compensation will be determined based on skills, experience, internal equity, and other job requirements.
