Job description

Help redefine customer support for the AI era.

Most companies are running support on ticketing systems built in 2007, with AI bolted on as an afterthought.

Botpress is the enterprise-grade AI agent platform for customer support - built the other way around.

As the 3rd fastest-growing B2B AI start-up worldwide, we're displacing legacy platforms like Zendesk at scale - across industries, regions, and thousands of companies worldwide.

The work ahead is ambitious. The opportunity is rare. We take a deliberate approach to growth: product-led, capital-efficient, and highly focused.

If you want to build the customer support platform for the AI era, we're looking for top talent to join us.

About the Role

As Financial Controller, you'll own the financial backbone of a company scaling fast. Reporting to the VP of Finance, you'll run our core accounting operations end-to-end while shaping the forecasts, board reporting, and financial systems that guide how we grow. Capital efficiency is core to how Botpress operates - this role exists to make sure our financial operations are as rigorous, automated, and AI-leveraged as the product we build.

Responsibilities
  • Own the month-end and year-end close, delivering accurate and timely financial statements
  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations: revenue recognition, AP/AR, payroll, and reconciliations
  • Automate and streamline finance operations - we expect you to leverage AI tools aggressively
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a small finance team (1-2 direct reports), fostering their professional growth and ensuring high-quality output
  • Lead annual audits and ensure ongoing compliance with accounting standards
  • Build and maintain budgets, forecasts, and cash flow models in partnership with the VP of Finance
  • Prepare board and investor reporting, including SaaS metrics (ARR, NRR, CAC, burn multiple)
  • Design and implement financial systems, controls, and processes that scale with the business
  • Partner with department leaders on spend management, headcount planning, and unit economics

Requirements

  • CPA designation
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including 3+ years in a controller or senior accounting leadership role
  • Bias toward automation - you'd rather build a system than repeat a task and you have a proven track record of that
  • Experience at a high-growth SaaS or startup, with fluency in SaaS revenue recognition and metrics
  • Hands-on FP&A experience: budgeting, forecasting, and board-level reporting
  • Track record of building or upgrading financial systems, processes, and controls
  • Detail-obsessed and deadline-driven, but comfortable with the ambiguity of a scaling startup
  • Nice to have: Big 4 or audit background; experience with multi-entity or cross-border operations
About Botpress

Botpress raised a $25 million Series B round in 2025. We're building the enterprise-grade AI agent platform for customer support - not by adding AI to old infrastructure, but by building AI-first from day one.

As a fast-growing start-up, we run a lean and innovative ship that leans on AI for maximum business impact. At Botpress, everyone is an owner, bringing their unique perspective and talents. We intentionally hire individuals who are eager, passionate, talented, and hungry to learn and grow throughout their career.

We operate fully in-office, with a culture that values both technical rigor and shared ambition.

You'll be on a team that's not just adapting to the AI revolution, but leading it. Joining our team means changing how millions of customers interact with the companies they do business with - and building the platform that defines the next era of customer support.

Benefits

  • Work with a talented and passionate team
  • 4 weeks of vacation
  • Paid sick and parental leave
  • Comprehensive health, dental, vision, travel, and life insurance
  • Funding for education and skills improvement
  • Fully-stocked fridge and cupboard - we take snacks seriously
  • Your own desk - no 'hot-desk'-style sign-up systems
  • A vibrant office community
