Position Summary

The Senior Accountant will play a key role in maintaining accurate, timely financial records across our five legal entities within QuickBooks. Reporting to the VP of Finance, this role owns core month-end close functions — including balance sheet reconciliations, payroll accounting, intercompany transactions, and fixed asset accounting — and serves as a hands-on contributor in a fast-paced construction accounting environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations across multiple legal entities
  • Record and reconcile intercompany transactions between the company's five affiliated entities
  • Perform payroll accounting, including journal entries, accruals, and payroll-related reconciliations
  • Code and reconcile company credit card transactions
  • Maintain the fixed asset schedule, including additions, disposals, and depreciation
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring deadlines are met
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts in QuickBooks
  • Assist with account analysis, journal entries, and accrual accounting
  • Support annual audits, tax preparation, and other external reporting requests
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls
  • Partner with the VP of Finance on ad hoc financial analysis and reporting
Required Qualifications
  • 2–3 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Approximately 2 years of public accounting experience
  • Approximately 1 year of private industry experience working within a general ledger system
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks (multi-entity experience a plus)
  • Strong Excel skills and solid understanding of GAAP fundamentals
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills; able to manage multiple entities and deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
  • CPA license or active CPA candidacy (not required, but a plus)
  • Experience in the construction industry or a project/job-cost accounting environment
  • Experience working within a multi-entity or multi-company organizational structure
