Summary for Billing & Client Accountant Manager (Global Law Firm):
Join a top global law firm as a Client Account Manager, overseeing the full billing and collections process for high-profile practice groups. This strategic, partner-facing role sits at the center of the firm's revenue lifecycle, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency while leading and developing a high-performing billing team. You will collaborate closely with partners, practice groups, and finance leadership to drive improvements, strengthen client relationships, and support the firm's financial performance.
Responsibilities for Billing & Client Accountant Manager:
  • Lead and oversee the complete billing and collections lifecycle for assigned practice groups, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing.
  • Monitor monthly aging reports and direct follow-up on outstanding receivables, escalating delays to partners when needed.
  • Conduct regular audits of invoices to identify errors, workflow issues, and training opportunities.
  • Ensure teams maintain up-to-date documentation of partner preferences, client billing requirements, and fee arrangements.
  • Analyze billing and AR trends, preparing monthly reports, revenue projections, and updates for senior management.
  • Collaborate with Finance teams-including Pricing, Client Reporting, and eBilling-to ensure compliance with client guidelines and accurate submissions.
  • Manage, mentor, and train team members while ensuring adequate coverage during peak billing periods and driving process improvements across the revenue lifecycle.

Requirements for Billing & Client Accountant Manager:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of billing, revenue operations, or client accounting experience within a law firm or professional services environment.
  • 3+ years of management experience leading billing or revenue teams.
  • Strong expertise in billing, collections, AR processes, and outside counsel billing guidelines.
  • Proven ability to implement operational improvements and optimize financial workflows.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Word; experience with Aderant is preferred.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills with a high level of attention to detail and the ability to work with attorneys and senior leadership.
