Job Description

As a Staff Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting small business clients, preparing financial statements, managing multiple client accounts, and providing assistance with payroll and accounting software. Working closely with an account manager, you'll help shape the financial success of our clients while embracing our culture of continuous improvement. 
 

What You'll Do

  • Deliver Financial Clarity: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for small business clients, giving them the insights they need to succeed.
  • Own the Client Experience: Manage a portfolio of clients, providing support with accounting, payroll, and basic software questions-all while building strong, professional relationships.
  • Customer Service Excellence: Deliver exceptional service with a focus on timely responses and dependable follow-through to keep things moving forward.
  • Practice Management: Maintain accurate practice management reports and handle sensitive business matters confidentially. 
  • Collaborate Across the Firm: Work closely with teams in IT, payroll, tax, and consulting to provide seamless support and well-rounded service.
  • Continuous Improvement: Spot opportunities for efficiency, recommend improvements, and contribute to the firm's continuous improvement culture.

Qualifications

What We're Looking For

  • Education: Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred-but not required if you bring the skills and drive.
  • Experience: 1-3 years in bookkeeping, accounting, or a related role is a plus, but we welcome enthusiastic learners ready to grow.
  • QuickBooks Skills: Strong proficiency in QuickBooks (especially QuickBooks Online). Certification is a bonus-or something you're willing to pursue.
  • Tech-Savvy: Confident using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook) and quick to learn new tools and systems.
  • Excellent Communicator: Clear, professional written and verbal communication is a must-especially when working with clients and teammates.
