Position Summary:


Affiliates of Marker Hill Construction seek a motivated Accounting Intern to join our corporate office in Denver part-time. This position offers a unique opportunity to experience and learn about a variety of industries, including development, construction, and hospitality, while contributing to the continued success and growth of our diverse entities. Other entities include Devil's Thumb Ranch, Marker Hill Capital, Ranch Creek Excavation, and others.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, have strong communication skills, and a great attitude. The Accounting Intern will report directly to the Director of Finance (CPA) and collaborate with the rest of the accounting team.


Key Responsibilities:


Assist in day-to-day accounting tasks such as data entry, reconciliations (mainly cash and fixed assets), and journal entries

Learn and utilize accounting software and systems to process financial transactions

Leverage data to prepare financial reports

Support the accounting team with month-end and year-end closing procedures

Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records

Collaborate with the accounting team to implement or improve process improvements

Assist with special projects as assigned by the Director of Finance

Attend meetings and/or trainings to enhance accounting/finance skills

Uphold company values and promote a positive work culture

Communicate effectively with all team members
